Orient Watch History

Who is Orient Watch?

“Orient Watch has always focused on mechanical watches, primarily automatic watches with its own in-house automatic movements Orient was once part of the “Big Three” watch companies in Japan along with Citizen and Seiko. In the 70s, when mechanical watch companies faced hardship from the mass introduction of inexpensive quartz watches, Citizen and Seiko took the path of mass producing quartz watches, Orient stuck with what it did best, making mechanical watches.”

Orient Watch was founded in Tokyo by Shogoro Yoshida, more than a century ago in 1901. And though the world was a very different place back then, everyone still needed to know what time it was – much like today’s world.

In those early watch making days, Orient Watch had some competition in the watch industry at home. Seiko and Citizen were big names in the watch making industry, and for many years Orient was ranked number three when it came to watch companies.

Mechanical Watches

“What sets Orient apart from other watch companies is really the fact that Orient has always been focusing on making its mechanical movements better and more reliable. It is unusual today to find a watch company that makes its own movement selling watches at prices offered by Orient.”

From the early beginnings to today, Orient Watch has been focused on making the best mechanical watches that money can buy. The history of Orient Watch is interesting because Orient Watch is a company that started out with a good idea, and never once veered onto a different course. The long years have helped Orient Watch to produce high-quality, long-lasting watches that anyone can afford.

The History of Orient Watch, Today

“In 1985 Orient and Seiko established a joint factory. Orient produces a range of automatic and quartz watches ranging in price from reasonably inexpensive (about 50USD / 50Euro) to very expensive (7000USD). Orient Star and Orient Star Royal are the middle and high-end brands, with the Royal Orient being their flagship line.”

Today, Orient Watch is known all over the globe. With manufacturing facilities in Singapore, Brazil, and Japan, Orient Watch today offers more styles and types of watches than ever. Today, Orient Watch offers watches in many designs including quartz, light powered, and of course mechanical.

“In the Japanese market, we supply high-quality watches, such as “Orient Star Royal,” our prestigious mechanical watch series, which our customers want to carry with them for many years. In overseas markets, our strategy is to develop new outlets for our products mainly in countries and areas with high potential economic growth, and increase our sales of budget-price watches.”

Orient Watch

For more than a hundred years, Orient Watch has been a well-known and respected name in the watch making industry. Today, many other companies try to reach the success and the high standards that Orient Watch has set. When it comes to mechanical watches, Orient Watch is the first name in the business. For high quality at an affordable price, Orient Watch is one of the better choices in watches. But don’t just take my word for it. Let the history of Orient Watch speak for itself.

Space Proof Omega Wristwatch Proudly Presents Its Successor

by admin on August 13th, 2009

Space Proof Omega Wristwatch Proudly Presents Its Successor What watch has been taken to the moon? None in the world but the time-honored Omega Speedmaster Professional! It was used by Armstrong and Aldrin when they landed on the Moon in 1969 (the Apollo Mission).

Omega watches can trace back to 1848 when a 23-year-old Swiss man, Louis Brandt, began to assemble highly precise pocket watches. Soon after they got very popular and were sought after across the world. By the 1950s Omega had became a well-established brand for its precise and outstanding quality. When NASA was having a hard time looking for an ideal watch good for the harsh conditions for the 1969 Moon Landing, Omega came to their rescue. It surprisingly passed all the NASA-imposed strict tests without significant damage, winning the honor of “NASA Officially Certified Wristwatch for All Manned Space Missions.” Omega has never ceased its ambition to lead the world’s timepieces. In 2009 it launched a new model, APOLLO 11 “40TH ANNIVERSARY” LIMITED EDITION, which is the next generation of the Moonlanding Speedmaster Professional. Keeping a few inner features of its predecessor, this new model carries a clear design marker, emblematic for NASA’s 1969 Apollo Mission.

A senior Omega fan would never forget its traditional black dial. This Limited Edition keeps that old style, and brings a few dazzling new looks—the case and bracelet are stainless steel; the hands are coated with luminescent material and rhodium. On the black dial is marked the time at which the first step on the Moon was made (02:56 GMT). The dial is protected by the same material as its forerunner, Hesalite, a special sort of crystal, best suited for extreme outer space conditions. Moreover, one of its three counters looks like a small medallion, etched with the NASA Apollo Mission’s symbols.

This new model is a real eye-catch not only for its newly developed, cutting-edge technology, but also because it features the original 1861 Omega caliber movement, which was the heart of the original Omega Speedmaster Professional.

The bezel’s tachymeter is engraved in black and the 42 mm diameter case is water resistant up to 50 meters depth. It is easy to see why this watch was awarded with ‘Snoopy’, the highest NASA distinction, and nobody will be surprised why both American and Russian astronauts were wearing it for outer space missions. This timeless masterpiece Omega Speedmaster Professional is priced at somewhere around US$ 3,000.

Efforts Gray Imports

by admin on June 30th, 2009

The companies of watch seem to open shops of their own brand more and more. Europastar announced over on December 20 this Karl that F. Bucherer opened the first shop to sell watches of Karl F. Bucherer exclusively.

The marks like IWC, Cartier and Omega have nowadays their shops jumping upwards like mushrooms. This must be a true pain in the end for the retailers who are located close to these shops.

Why would somebody go in a retailer and would buy a IWC of them when there is this whole far to the top equipped nice IWC-seulement store only one street? Unless you have a certain kind of relationship with a specific retailer. Because of this, the retailers will probably throw these marks of their collection. Another option which is more probable (if the mark belongs to their the best selling marks in their collection), is to obtain these watches by various channels and to offer them with a few serious percentages in addition to price to the detail of detail. I speak the gray ofcourse about importation here. Why you, because a store of watch, would release a good mark of sale? I think that the marks with their own shops are not very respectful with their own network of retailer to be honest.

At all events, although this shops have all the substance of imagination inside, I prefer a store of watch (authorized retailer or not) to buy my watches of. In the final analysis, it is about the watch. And if I can go down from the same watch for a few % decent ‘from S with a chart from guarantee and the same good service, why not?
